We're not even there yet and we're getting excited for OUR Elders.  This is our zone there in Kitale.   Another senior couple in a nearby city emailed us this photo.  We can't wait!!

We are in a "holding pattern" at home in Eagle Mountain.  Twelve hours before our scheduled departure for Africa the Missionary Department informed us that we wouldn't be going after all.  They had known that fact for a week but no one had bothered to tell us.  That information would have been useful since we had "rented" our house and sold our car.  Anyway, work permit issues in Kenya  (not visa problems) had developed and the three Senior Couples ahead of us have been waiting at the Nairobi mission home for several weeks unable to work or serve.  Because of that the Church decided to not send any more couples until the situation is resolved.  Also, 37 young missionaries have been assigned to adjoining missions until they are allow to enter Kenya.  There are some hopeful signs, but if the crisis is not resolved soon we will likely be reassigned.  It's all pretty frustrating but we're trying to be patient and let things work themselves out.  If you happen to have any influence with the Almighty, we could really use it.
